A. Patten’s diverse business background incorporates entrepreneurial,
financial, and marketing expertise. Prior to becoming part of the mergers
and acquisitions team at IBG, Patten launched his own oil and gas
exploration and development company, which he successfully took public.
Patten honed his financial expertise serving as controller for a
subsidiary of the Phelps Dodge company where he was responsible for all
accounting facets of the oil and gas division. He has also worked for KPMG
Peat Marwick, where he began his career as a public accountant.
Patten rounded out his business knowledge by becoming a partner in a local
advertising agency, where he developed skills in both marketing and
management, creating strategic plans for a corporate clientele, and
overseeing the firm’s operations.
Patten enjoys applying his knowledge and IBG’s resources to the challenge
of creating opportunities that meet the needs of each party in the
business sale:
"I get great satisfaction from constructing an
ideal solution, that ensures a successful sale for my client, and lets
everyone walk away from the table a winner."
A licensed Colorado real estate broker, Patten holds a degree in
accounting from Metro State College of Denver and an MBA from the
University of Denver. A “Colorado native from Wichita,” he has been a
Denver resident since 1957. He enjoys spending his free time competing on
the tennis court.
