John R. Zayac
John
R. Zayac founded IBG Business Services, Inc. in 1982 to
provide the mid-market business seller with the same level of resources
and sophisticated services traditionally reserved for firms valued over
$100 million. Over the last fifteen years, Zayac has built IBG into the
industry’s most comprehensive provider of valuation analysis, strategic
planning, marketing, and transaction structuring services for mid-market
business sellers.
In addition to his responsibilities as founder and CEO of IBG, Zayac has
owned and operated a variety of businesses, including a printing company,
an automobile importing agency, and a chain of car washes. Zayac’s success
as a business intermediary includes hundreds of completed transactions
with a combined value exceeding $300 million.
Zayac’s concept for IBG evolved from his personal experiences buying and
selling businesses:
"Selling your company may be the biggest
decision you’ll ever make, so it’s important to have the resources and
know-how behind you, not only to effect the sale more quickly, but also to
achieve the maximum profit. If I could have used IBG as a resource, I
would have reached my goals in a fraction of the time."
A native of Binghamton, New York, Zayac graduated with distinction from
Cornell University, and has resided in Colorado since 1981. Zayac is an
acknowledged expert in business evaluations and transactions, and is
actively involved in a number of industry associations and civic
organizations. An accomplished private pilot, Zayac also enjoys spending
time with his family, pursuing outdoor activities such as camping, fishing
and skiing, as well as sailing, scuba diving and golf.
